What’s New with Mitel’s MiVoice Business 8.0?
Mitel’s MiVoice Business is a phone system that caters to the needs of a large array of businesses working in various markets. Whether you have a small business or managing a large corporation, in a single office or different locations anywhere in the world, MiVoice Business can adapt to your needs. It’s designed to be a comprehensive platform that includes voice messaging, mobility, presence, conferencing, collaboration tools, and applications. The new MiVoice Business 8.0 software offers brand new features, aiming to provide the best caller experience. Let’s take a look at some of these new features and how they can improve your workflow.
Flexible Day/Night Service
This new feature makes the phone system adaptable to the needs of businesses that have staff working on different schedules simultaneously. It allows you to treat groups of users on a single instance of software differently for day and night service routing. For example, a department with extended business hours can receive calls while another department that’s closed during the same time slot has calls answered by an automated attendant. With the new software, you can now create up to 100 independent schedules.
Choice of Music or Message on Hold
Users in a given location can now hear distinct music or messages, depending on the department they are trying to reach. This feature is customizable to fit your business’ needs. By adding this new feature, MiVoice Business 8.0 allows a given call to be answered from a given ring group and provide music independently from the Controller, Zone or User that is placing the call on hold.
Preview on Call Pick Up
Requested by customers in many markets, this feature is compatible with the 5300 and 6900 IP phone series. Groups of users can now receive information such as calling name and number, and the called groups’ name and number.
Enhanced Call Screening
This feature is especially useful for managers’ assistants since it offers a more flexible solution for screening incoming calls. It can be enabled from the manager or the assistant’s phone as needed. When the telephone is placed on a DND mode, the assistant can route the call through to the manager when necessary.
Name and Directory Updates
On previous systems, internal calls would show a number-based view, but with the MiVoice Business 8.0 software, the directory now supports full names. This feature makes it easier for the user to know who forwarded the call to their extension and to add it to the PhoneBook feature. In the PhoneBook, the user can access information such as a second line appearance, console overflow directory number, and the number of other devices such as a fax.
These are just some of the new features of Mitel’s MiVoice Business 8.0. The user-friendly, cost-effective system also provides administration improvements including new security features and an expansion of automated routes selection lists.
