Word of the Month – Forward

Posted in : Word of the Month | March 7, 2019

“Spring forward…”; a term loosely based on Daylight Savings Time (which is right around the corner) is going to have a little spin on it for this “Word of the Month”, that is, using the term to describe springing into action, getting things done, and so forth.

One thing I’ve realized is that it’s important to constantly move forward, to make consistent progress in anything you do. It reminds me of the “act or accept” concept where at the end of the day, your life is up to you.

You can choose to accept the things you don’t like, or you can choose to spring forward and take action. In our professional and personal lives, we need to understand that “success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" (W. Churchill). That is, the key to staying motivated after facing obstacles is to keep moving forward. The misconception is that most successful people “make it” because they chose not to be derailed by the obstacles. On the contrary, every successful person has faced defeat and failure but they had the belief and set out to make their vision a reality by constantly moving forward. This month, let’s use the “spring forward” concept and keep moving towards that goal regardless of what lies ahead.
